    The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is a constitutional body. It conducts recruitment exams for various posts in the state government. And also, advises the state government on matters related to civil services. It was established after the merger of the former princely state of Rajasthan (1949).     History of Rajasthan Public Service Commission

    The RPSC traces its origin to the former Rajputana Public Service Commission. Further, it was set up in 1929 by the British government. So, they could recruit civil servants for the princely states of Rajputana. After independence, the princely state integrated into the United States of Rajasthan. This event was then formed on 25th March 1948. The United States of Rajasthan was again renamed as Rajasthan on 26 January 1950. And also, became a part of the Indian Union. It was established on 16th August 1949, under the provisions of the Constitution of India. The first Chairman of the RPSC was Sir SK Ghosh reportedly. He was the former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court. The first exam conducted was the Rajasthan Administrative Service exam in 1951.

    Composition of Rajasthan Public Service Commission

    The RPSC consists of a chairman and six members. Further, they get appointed by the governor for a term of six years. However, they attain the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier. They’re selected from among the people who’ve held office for 10 years. Either under the Government of India or the Government of a state. Also have knowledge and experience in matters relating to civil services. 

    The Chairman and the member hold office in accordance with the condition. These conditions of service are further prescribed by the governor of Rajasthan.     • To exercise other powers and performances prescribed by the governor of Rajasthan.  
    • Required by the constitution of India. Or any law made by the Parliament or late state legislature.

    • Enter your valid email address and phone number to get yourself registered. 
    • After registration fill the necessary field with valid and correct information. 
    • Upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature. 
    • Making a payment of fees through online payment modes is acceptable. 
    • Then, submit the application. 
    • An application ID is further generated after the payment of fees. 
    • Keep a backup of the application for future use.
